The relationship between CareerPlug and Indeed

CareerPlug is an applicant tracking system (ATS) and Indeed is a job matching and hiring platform. When job postings are created in CareerPlug, they are sent to Indeed via an API.

Due to the volume of job postings submitted to Indeed, new jobs may take up to 24 business hours to appear in their organic job feed. If your job still hasn't shown up after 24 hours, this could be the result of Indeed reviewing your posting to ensure it meets their job posting standards as part of their ongoing commitment to protecting the applicant experience.

With a CareerPlug Hire or Grow subscription, you can post an unlimited number of jobs, and your jobs are automatically sent to our partner job boards (including Indeed) for inclusion in their organic feeds — as long as they pass the quality review for each respective job board.

While partner job boards frequently provide a high quantity of applicants, you can't rely on just one source to find quality candidates. Additionally, some job boards have shifted visibility toward sponsored (paid) job postings, resulting in organic jobs receiving less visibility and fewer applicants. This means you need to embrace alternative recruiting strategies.

The best way to hire consistently and reliably is to diversify the sources where you share your jobs — such as on social media or industry-specific custom sources. Besides sharing jobs to specific platforms, you can increase your chances of success by promoting your careers page, which typically accounts for 26% of all hires.

Alternatively, you can contact an Indeed sales representative after posting a job in CareerPlug and work directly with them to set up your sponsorship and determine a budget. Even when you work with an Indeed rep to sponsor a posting, you will still edit the job and review applicants in CareerPlug.

When you sponsor a job on Indeed, you're paying an additional cost for optimized placement so your posting is visible to more job seekers. All sponsorship-related billing is collected and handled by Indeed.

Indeed only accepts jobs from a single designated source per employer, and will suppress visibility for duplicate postings coming from multiple sources for the same employer or brand. If you have any active jobs outside of CareerPlug — either directly on Indeed or through another ATS — close them immediately.
