# Using CareerPlug's ADP RUN Integration

Integrate CareerPlug with ADP RUN to save time on manual data entry, increase accuracy with new hire exports to ADP, and automatically sync ADP roster data to CareerPlug.

### What is the CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP®?
The CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP® provides an efficient way to connect and sync data between your CareerPlug and ADP RUN accounts.
You can simply, quickly, and accurately export new hire data from CareerPlug to ADP. And when you make changes to your roster in ADP, the Connector will automatically cascade those updates to CareerPlug.

### What data and fields are synced when exporting a new hire from CareerPlug to ADP?
The CareerPlug Connector allows you to manually export new hire data from CareerPlug to your ADP RUN account.
The following fields pre-populate and automatically sync:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email
- Phone Number
The following fields are required to sync:
- Employment Type\* (*required for all syncs*)
- Birth Date (*required for W2 employees only*)
- Social Security Number (*required for W2 employees and 1099 **individual** contractors only*)
- Start Date (*required for all syncs*)
- Tax ID Number (*required for 1099 **company** contractors only*)
- Company Name (*required for 1099 **company** contractors only*)

### What data and fields are synced when automatically syncing roster data from ADP to CareerPlug?
The CareerPlug Connector automatically syncs your roster updates in ADP to CareerPlug in near-real time.
The following fields automatically sync:
- User
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email
- Phone Number
- Title
- Role
- Account\_ID
- Disabled\_At
- Employee Profile
- Address
- Address 2
- City
- State
- Zip Code
- Country
- Source
- ADP\_Associate\_OID
- ADP\_Organization\_OID
- ADP\_Synced\_Fields
- Employment\_Started\_At
- Employment\_Ended\_At
### How do I enable the integration?
To enable this integration, you need to copy the ADP Run key from your CareerPlug account, purchase the CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP®, and then authorize data transfer between your ADP and CareerPlug accounts.
#### Step 1: Copy the ADP Run Key from your CareerPlug account
1\. In CareerPlug, navigate to **Company settings (gear icon) \> Integrations \> ADP Marketplace Apps**.
2\. Click the **Copy to clipboard (double paper) icon** to the right of the ADP Key for RUN.
#### Step 2: Purchase the CareerPlug app from the ADP Marketplace
Before you can use it, you must purchase the CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP® from the [ADP Marketplace](https://marketplace.adp.com/).
1\. On the ADP Marketplace Apps page (**Company settings \[gear icon\] \> Integrations \> ADP Marketplace Apps**), click the **ADP Marketplace** link to open the CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP® page.

**If you're signed in to your RUN Powered by ADP® account:** click the **More** tab at the bottom of the left nav bar, select **ADP Marketplace** from the pop-up menu, click the **Browse** tab, and then search for the CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP®. You can also access the page directly by clicking [this link](https://apps.adp.com/en-US/apps/453684).
2\. On the CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP® page, click the **Buy Now** button.

3\. On the **Cart** page, click the **Enter info** button in the yellow callout box.

4\. In the Additional Information pop-up, paste the ADP Key you copied from CareerPlug.
5\. Click the **Save Details** button.

**Note:** When you add the CareerPlug Connector to your Cart, you'll get the **1-100 Employees** edition by default. If you have more than 100 employees, click the **Change** link on your **Cart** page, click the **Select** button to choose the edition your business needs (either **101-250 Employees** or **251-500 Employees**),and then click the **Save Changes** button.

6\. Once you've successfully added your ADP Key, click the **Next** button at the bottom of the page.

7\. On the **Review and Buy** page, enter your credit card information. If you've already added a billing method to your ADP account, you'll have the option to choose it instead.
8\. Click the checkbox at the bottom of the page to agree to the ADP Marketplace's and CareerPlug's Terms of Service.
9\. When you've finished reviewing your order details, click the **Complete Purchase** button.

10\. In the purchase confirmation pop-up, click the **I Agree** button to authorize data transfer between your ADP and CareerPlug accounts.
If you click **Skip For Now**, [you'll need to provide authorization](https://support.careerplug.com/using-careerplug-s-adp-run-integration#step3) before you can use the CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP®.

#### Step 3: Authorize data transfer between ADP and CareerPlug
If you didn't authorize data transfer between your ADP and CareerPlug accounts at the end of your purchase (see above), you need to do so before you can use the CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP®.
**If you authorized data transfer between your ADP and CareerPlug accounts, skip this step.** You're ready to start [exporting employees from CareerPlug to your ADP RUN account](https://support.careerplug.com/using-careerplug-s-adp-run-integration#export).
##### If you're still on the purchase confirmation page in the ADP Marketplace:
1\. Click the **Manage Consent** button.
2\. In the purchase confirmation pop-up, click the **I Agree** button to authorize data transfer between your ADP and CareerPlug accounts.
Your CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP® is ready to use!
##### If you've left the purchase confirmation page:
1\. In your CareerPlug account, navigate to **Company settings (gear icon) \> Integrations \> ADP Marketplace Apps**.
2\. Click the **ADP Consent Manager** link in the ADP Run section.

3\. Review ADP's Client Authorization pop-up and click the **Allow** button at the bottom to provide consent to transfer data between your CareerPlug and ADP RUN accounts.
Your CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP® is ready to use!
This integration can link one CareerPlug account with one ADP account. It works with CareerPlug accounts that have multiple locations but share a single ADP account across all locations. However, it is incompatible with CareerPlug accounts with multiple locations that each have a distinct ADP account.
### How do I export an employee to ADP RUN from CareerPlug?
Once you connect your accounts, exporting your employee profile/hire information from CareerPlug to ADP is simple.
1\. Navigate to your **Employees** page.
2\. Click the name of the employee whose profile and hire information you'd like to export to ADP. This will automatically redirect you to the **Tasks** tab of the employee's profile.

3\. In the employee's profile, navigate to the **Settings** tab.

4\. Scroll down to the Data & Exports section and click the **Preview & Export** button.

5\. Select the **Employee Type** from the drop-down menu.
6\. Fill in all remaining fields on the export form. *Fields will vary depending on the Employee Type you select.*
7\. When you're finished editing the export form, click the **Export to ADP** button in the top-right corner of the page.
You can export an employee's profile/hire information as often as needed.
#### Editing an exported employee's information in ADP RUN
Once you have exported an employee from CareerPlug to ADP, you can manually edit their information in ADP.
**You only need to manually edit an employee's information if you want to.** The CareerPlug Connector runs a sync every 15 minutes to check for new hires, rehires, and terminations in ADP — as well as a full roster reconciliation on Sundays — and automatically updates your roster in CareerPlug.
##### To find and edit an employee you've recently exported from CareerPlug:
1\. Click the **People** tab in the left nav bar of your ADP RUN account.
2\. Find your exported employee in the **Onboarding** section and click their name (or click the **three-dots icon** to the right of their name and select **Edit new hire** from the drop-down menu).
3\. View and verify the employee's information, and fill in any required fields that are empty.
4\. When you're done entering information on a particular page, click the **Next** button.
**Note:** If you need to finish entering the employee's information at a different time, click the **Save for Later** button. You can sign back into your ADP RUN account and finish updating your employee's information whenever you're ready to proceed.
5\. After you enter all required information for your employee, scroll to the bottom of the **Review and complete** page and click the **Done** button.

### Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
**Q: What happens to the current ADP Run integration that customers are using (the old one)?**
**A:** Current clients can continue using the old integration; the new integration/connector will replace it in the ADP Marketplace going forward. Launching the new integration has no immediate impact on existing users of the old one. The integration they are on is simply upgraded to keep CP roster updated based on their ADP info.
**Q: Does an existing CP + Run client need to purchase the new integration separately, even if they just renewed their old Run subscription?**
**A:** Yes. They must unsubscribe from the old integration and purchase the new one. To avoid double billing, they can cancel at the end of their current billing cycle and transition then; if double-billed, they'll need to work with ADP directly to resolve it.
**Q: Does this integration work with Classic Onboarding?**
**A:** No. This integration is designed only for use with [Onboarding and Employee Retention](https://support.careerplug.com/onboarding-and-employee-retention?hsLang=en).
**Q: Does this integration support multi-location accounts?**
**A:** Yes, but only if the CareerPlug account with multiple locations shares a single ADP account across all locations. There's currently no way to support multiple separate ADP RUN connections within a single CareerPlug account.
