What is the CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP®?
The CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP® provides an efficient way to connect your CareerPlug account with your ADP RUN account. Simply, quickly, and accurately get new hire information from CareerPlug into your ADP account via this data sync integration.

What data and fields are synced between ADP and CareerPlug?
The CareerPlug Connector pre-populates and performs new hire data syncs from your CareerPlug account into your ADP RUN account.
The following fields pre-populate and automatically sync:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Phone Number
The following fields are required to sync:
- Employment Type* (required for all syncs)
- Birth Date (required for W2 employees only)
- Social Security Number (required for W2 employees and 1099 individual contractors only)
- Start Date (required for all syncs)
- Tax ID Number (required for 1099 company contractors only)
- Company Name (required for 1099 company contractors only)

How do I enable the integration?
Step 1: Contact CareerPlug to enable the integration
To enable the CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP®, you first need to contact CareerPlug to let us know you'd like to use the integration. You can call, email, or click the Submit A Request link in the top-right corner of this page to quickly and easily submit your request from this browser.
Step 2: Purchase the CareerPlug app from the ADP Marketplace
Once the integration has been enabled for your account, you must purchase the CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP® from the ADP Marketplace.
1. In your CareerPlug account, navigate to Settings > Integrations > ADP Marketplace Apps and click the Copy to clipboard icon to the right of your listed ADP Run Key. You'll need this for Step #6.
2. From your ADP RUN dashboard, click the More tab at the bottom of the left nav bar and select ADP Marketplace from the pop-up menu.
3. Click the Browse tab in the ADP Marketplace, search for "CareerPlug" (or find the app via browsing), and click the CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP® tile.
4. On the app details page, click the Continue to Purchase button.
5. Select the version of the CareerPlug Connector that fits your business from the Choose Edition drop-down menu.
6. Paste the ADP Key you copied from CareerPlug in the Additional Information Needed section.
7. Click the checkbox below the Buy now button to agree to the ADP Marketplace's Terms of Service.
8. Review your order details, and when you're ready, click the Buy Now button.
Note: If you need to adjust your payment settings, click the Change payment method link before completing your purchase.
9. In the purchase confirmation pop-up, click the I Agree button to authorize data transfer between your ADP and CareerPlug accounts.
If you click Skip For Now, you'll need to provide authorization before you can use the CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP®.
10. In your CareerPlug account, refresh the ADP Marketplace Apps page to verify that your CareerPlug and ADP RUN accounts are connected. You should see a green Active status.

Step 3: Authorize data transfer between ADP and CareerPlug
If you didn't authorize data transfer between your ADP and CareerPlug accounts at the end of your purchase (see above), you need to do so before you can use the CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP®.
If you authorized data transfer between your accounts, skip this step. You're already ready to start exporting employees from CareerPlug to your ADP RUN account.
If you're still on the purchase confirmation page in the ADP Marketplace:
1. Click the Manage Consent button.
2. In the purchase confirmation pop-up, click the I Agree button to authorize data transfer between your ADP and CareerPlug accounts.
Your CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP® is ready to use!
If you've left the purchase confirmation page:
1. In your CareerPlug account, navigate to Settings > Integrations > ADP Marketplace Apps.
2. Click the ADP Consent Manager link under ADP Run.
Note: You can also access ADP's Consent Manager by clicking this link.
3. Review ADP's Client Authorization pop-up and click the Allow button at the bottom to provide consent to transfer data between your CareerPlug and ADP RUN accounts.
Your CareerPlug Connector for RUN Powered by ADP® is ready to use!
This integration can link one CareerPlug account with one ADP account. It works with CareerPlug accounts that have multiple locations but share a single ADP account across all locations. However, it is incompatible with CareerPlug accounts with multiple locations that each have a distinct ADP account.
How do I export an employee to ADP RUN from CareerPlug?
Once you connect your accounts, exporting your employee profile/hire information from CareerPlug to ADP is simple.
1. Navigate to your Team page.
2. Click the name of the employee whose profile/hire information you'd like to export to ADP.
3. In the employee's profile, click the Settings tab.
4. Scroll down to the Data & Exports section and click the Preview & Export button.
5. Select the Employee Type from the drop-down menu.
6. Fill in all remaining fields on the export form. Fields will vary depending on the Employee Type you select.
7. When you're finished editing the export form, click the Export to ADP button in the top-right corner of the page.
You can export an employee's profile/hire information as often as needed.
Editing an exported employee's information in ADP RUN
Once you have exported an employee from CareerPlug to ADP, you will need to edit them in ADP going forward. ADP will not reflect any changes you make to an employee in CareerPlug after you export their information.
To find and edit an employee you've recently exported from CareerPlug:
1. Click the People tab in the left nav bar of your ADP RUN account.
2. Find your exported employee in the Onboarding section and click their name (or click the three-dots icon to the right of their name and select Edit new hire from the drop-down menu).
3. View and verify the employee's information, and fill in any required fields that are empty.
4. When you're done entering information on a particular page, click the Next button.
Note: If you need to finish entering the employee's information at a different time, click the Save for Later button. You can sign back into your ADP RUN account and finish updating your employee's information whenever you're ready to proceed.
5. After you enter all required information for your employee, scroll to the bottom of the Review and complete page and click the Done button.
