What is the Form I-9?

The Form I-9 is used for verifying the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States. All U.S. employers must ensure proper completion of Form I-9 for each individual they hire for employment in the United States.

Are CareerPlug's Form I-9s compliant?

Yes, CareerPlug's Form I-9 feature is compliant with federal regulations. CareerPlug ensures the current and updated Form I-9 is available in Onboarding when released, that the Form I-9 can be completed in Onboarding by employers and employees, and that completed Form I-9s are stored in your account and are able to be accessed.

CareerPlug does not assume legal responsibility for ensuring your Form I-9s are compliant, updated, and accurate. Rather, CareerPlug gives you the tools to execute a compliant Form I-9 process, but the responsibility to execute and stay compliant remains with the employer.

What electronic data is tracked?

CareerPlug tracks the timestamp and IP address of the employer, employee, and translator (if applicable) signatures on the Form I-9. This metadata is available on request for your account in the event of an audit.
