CareerPlug provides a few ways to help you recruit bilingual candidates.
In this article:

- Creating a job posting in another language and posting it to bilingual job boards
- Making bilingual applicants Fast Track for easy visibility
Using CareerPlug's built-in translation feature
CareerPlug has a built-in translator that will translate the jobs on your Careers Page into Spanish. When people whose preferred language is Spanish visit your Careers Page, they will automatically have the option to translate the page. If you are interested in this feature, contact us to enable it and follow the steps below to set it up.
Once you have contacted CareerPlug and enabled the built-in translation feature, create a job and decide on the Posting Language. If you select that the Job Primary Language is English, the job will appear in English with a link to translate it to Spanish. If you set the Posting Language as Spanish, it will appear in Spanish by default with a link to translate it to English.
In your job description, you should make it clear that being bilingual is a requirement. Some other ways to quickly determine if candidates are bilingual is to use Fast Track.
Once the job is saved, it will post in the primary language selected. The applicant can also change the language on your Careers Page and on the specific job posting.
Creating a job posting in another language and posting it to bilingual job boards
If you want your job to appear in a language other than English on job boards like Indeed, simply sharing an English job posting you made in CareerPlug's system will not result in the post appearing as bilingual on the outside source's website.
To recruit candidates who speak any language other than English, a best practice is to post two jobs — one with an English job title/description, and one with a job title/description in another language. This is the only situation in which it is acceptable to create two job postings for the same position. Read more about job posting best practices.
Then, follow the normal steps for sharing your job posting to external sources. For example, job boards specifically for bilingual candidates.
It's a good idea to recruit with the help of your existing bilingual employees. More info here. Those who have the most success in hiring bilingual candidates don't wait for bilingual candidates to find their jobs on the major job boards — they seek out bilingual candidates.
Some employers may wish to hire only those who can speak a language other than English. If this is the case, you might not post a job in English at all. When posting a job in another language, ensure that the job title, description, and prescreen questions and answers are all in that language.
You may wish to create a special job template in the language desired to save you time when posting jobs in this language.
Making bilingual applicants Fast Track for easy visibility
Fast Track applicants are marked with two arrows next to their prescreen score on your Applicants page.
An applicant is marked as "Fast Track" if they provide the designated response to one (or more) of your prescreen questions.
A way to quickly identify bilingual applicants on your Applicants page would be to add/edit a prescreen question asking whether the applicant is bilingual and to make the "Yes, fluent" answer a Fast Track response.
To do this, locate the job on your Jobs page for which you'd like bilingual applicants. Click the Edit button and navigate to the Applicant Evaluation section. Click Add questions to select a new prescreen question from the library or create your own question. We have multiple prewritten questions you can select by searching for "Spanish" or "bilingual." Find the question you want to use and turn the toggle on to add it to your job.
Next, click the settings icon.
Set the status of the ideal answer to the question as Fast Track. You can also set the status of the "No" response as Disqualify. If you're willing to accept differing levels of fluency, you can score the responses as 'Normal,' like in the example below. Save the prescreen question, and then click the Update Job Post button.
