# Autopilot capabilities & limitations
Available with a CareerPlug [Hire](https://support.careerplug.com/benefits-of-your-careerplug-hire-subscription?hsLang=en) or [Grow](https://support.careerplug.com/benefits-of-a-careerplug-grow-subscription?hsLang=en) subscription.
[Autopilot](https://support.careerplug.com/getting-started-using-autopilot?hsLang=en) is CareerPlug's automated interview scheduling tool that handles communication between your business and an applicant when arranging an interview. It helps eliminate the back-and-forth hassle of manually scheduling interviews, accelerating your time to interview and, ultimately, hire.
### Capabilities
- Autopilot communicates with applicants based on whether they have [opted in to receive text messages](https://support.careerplug.com/how-applicants-opt-in-to-receiving-text-messages?hsLang=en).
- **Applicants who have opted in** will receive text and email messages from Autopilot.
- **Applicants who have opted out** of receiving text messages will only receive email messages from Autopilot.
- Autopilot will send a text and/or email message to an applicant immediately after you launch it, asking them to select a time for their interview.
- It will then send a text and/or email reminder to applicants who have not scheduled an interview within 24 hours.
- If still unresponsive after 48 hours, Autopilot will send another reminder via text and/or email.
### Limitations
- Currently, Autopilot's messages are standardized and cannot be customized.
- Because Autopilot is an automation, it's not currently compatible with [other automations](https://support.careerplug.com/hiring-process-automation?hsLang=en) in CareerPlug.
- You cannot add [CareerPlug forms](https://support.careerplug.com/using-application-forms?hsLang=en) or [message templates](https://support.careerplug.com/editing-email-templates?hsLang=en) to an Autopilot step in your [hiring process](https://support.careerplug.com/creating-or-editing-a-hiring-process?hsLang=en).
- If you want to include forms as part of an Autopilot step:
- You can attach external documents via URL by clicking the **Add Another Link** button.
- You can add a **Custom Step** to your hiring process just before or after the **Autopilot** step that includes your CareerPlug forms (and other hiring tools).
- Invitation Templates and Scheduling Templates aren't compatible with Autopilot because it already handles messaging applicants for you.
