Creating a confidential job posting

Some clients use a confidential job posting to recruit candidates for a position that is currently filled.

In this article:

Set a Confidential Account Name

Before you can post a confidential job, you need to set the Confidential Account Name for your account.

Navigate to Settings > My Organization > Company Profile.

Scroll down to the Confidential Account Name field.

Create a new name to appear as your company name for your confidential job. This name should be specific to the industry of your company but not include your company name. For example, you might use a name like “Boutique Clothing Store,” “Fast Food Franchise,” or “National Insurance Company.” Do not use a name as generic as “Generic Company.”

Click Save when you are finished specifying your Confidential Account Name.

Post a confidential job

Configure your job posting as you normally would.

In the “Select posting status” pop-up that appears after you are finished filling in the job details, you need to select the Make this job confidential toggle. No company information will be shown with this job, it will not appear on any of your company's careers pages, and its visibility in organic job feeds may be impacted.

When you are finished, click Post Job.

Do confidential jobs appear on job boards?

Policies regarding confidential jobs differ by job board.

Share your confidential job by email or on social media

To share your confidential job via email or on social media, click the Share button under the actions section of the job.

Sponsor your confidential job so it appears on Indeed

To sponsor your confidential job, you cannot click the Sponsor icon in CareerPlug like you would with a normally-posted job. You must contact Indeed directly to sponsor the job.
